Venison Roast
Ingredients
:
1 qt. Sweet Cider
1 qt. Hard Cider (or 1 cup vinegar)
1 onion cut in small pieces
1 clove of garlic cut in small pieces
1 tbs. pickling spice
3 tbs. salt
Bacon
Onion Soup MixDirections:
Add water to cover meat. Marinate in refrigerator to a minimum of 3 days,
turning occasionally. When ready to cook, remove from brine, rinse with
water. Punch six holes in meat, placing a sliver of garlic in each hole.
Lay three or four strips of bacon across top of meat. Place in cooking bag.
Sprinkle 3 tbs. of onion soup mix on top of meat, then add 3 cups of water.
Cook in over at 350 degrees for 2 to 2-1/2 hours. Be sure to punch 2 or 3
holes in bag before placing in oven.
